Hey Doc!

It's A.B. and, in conjunction with the survey from a few months ago, I just wanted to thank you for

 A) being a knowledgeable and caring doc with me personally,

 and

 B) for taking time out of a hectic schedule to send such informative newsletters.

I think my only gripe in the survey was that they were so long, but that's how you roll - do something you're passionate about and do the best job you can.

Anyways, I know patient/doctor relationships are mostly business, so no gifts blah blah blah. but everyone could always use a shot in the arm (not medically, lol) and you really put your heart into your work! so from me, and anyone else that just hasn't said it, a warm thank you for all you do!

I'm glad to be a patient of yours, Dr. Horvitz.  You run a "dream" office as far as I am concerned for health care.  You and Jessica are the nicest people, which makes my visits there so nice.  I don't know exactly what's going to happen now that the reform bill has passed, but at least I know I'm covered with your medical care.

The Institute For Medical Wellness is everything a doctors office should be; fast appointment scheduling, minimal waiting in the waiting and exam rooms, and most importantly a doctor who takes the time to listen, and to explain things in a comprehensive manner. I love that you take the time to send your Newsletter- I find it very informative

Dr. Horvitz,

Its been 2 years since my mysterious health issues started.  In that time I have seen dozens of Drs.  You are sincerely the ONLY one that has truly helped me.  The lesions are under control and I believe it is largely due to your paying attention to the larger picture and not only the physical symptoms.  You never rush me out or come across as condescending, nor do you just want to write a prescription to mask the symptoms.  I believe in the mind/body/spirit connection.  You empower your patients.  AND you made it possible for me to obtain your outstanding services without insurance.  I really cannot thank you enough. 

Too many times people only hear complaints and not the good stuff.  I didn't send out cards so wanted you to know how much you have assisted me and how much I appreciate it.

You also have the best receptionist in a medical office I have ever come across.  Please tell her as well.

I am a former patient from when you were an insurance wealthcare provider (IWP - yup, providing wealth to insurers).  I always loved your healthcare philosophy but was daunted by the fee changes.  After a couple of years with my new IWP, who is a nice enough person and provided adequately for my needs, I realize that I miss your more integrated and personal approach to healthcare.

A Very Grateful Patient

Recently I had the unfortunate experience of losing my healthcare insurance. I was devastated and horrified of not having the means of buying my much needed medication. So I turned to the only persons in healthcare that I thought would care, my doctor, Dr. Steven Horvitz and his staff.

I was not disappointed. They cared and they helped.

In today's world it is so very comforting to know that there are individuals who take their profession to heart and not their pockets.

The care and attention that they always give me during my visits should be the standard practice in all medical facilities.

Thank you. Our daughter started college this  August in Washington, D.C. I am glad we continued her in your "wellness program". I wasn't sure if it was a good idea since she was now living over 150 miles away and that you were no longer as accessible considering the distance from Moorestown. Last week the infirmary at college told her she had the flu. With 101.5 fever, naturally mom and dad were distraught.  You were available and responsive to our phone calls and emails. You were involved in her care  even from this distance. With your help, she recovered quickly. Thank you for being there.

My family and I have been using you as our "Marcus Welby" for over 10 years now. My children are grown and now out of the nest but my wife and I still use your services. When I first heard about the Wellness program I was not sure and didn't partake right away. I have changed my thinking as I have signed up for the plan and couldn't be happier. My physical and recent visits have probably paid for the plan already. Oh yeah my ear infection is totally healed and all's well.

Let me take a moment to respond to your evaluation of your practice.  My family and I became patients before you started the Wellness Institute.  We were in a position of changing medical plans, and had to find a new primary care physician.  To be truly honest with you, we chose you because of the proximity of our home.  But let me stress, we have never looked back on our decision.  All, and I emphasize, all of our family was comfortable and most important confident with your practice from the first time we walked through your doors.  Through the years, and complicated medical necessities we have never been disapointed.  Your approach and bedside manner has always been just what we were looking for in a family physician.  I heartily applaud your preventive approach to medical care. Even when you changed to the Wellness Institute, and no longer accepted insurance, we decided that our relationship with you was more important than merely an insurance option.   We look forward to a long standing relationship with you and have highly recommended you to others.

Your Open Letter about your new practice style came just in time. My 16 year old daughter was sick and home from school. I wasn't sure what to do. Go to the Dr. or wait it out the day. After reading the letter I knew what to do, and felt assured my daughter was in good hands. I called before 12 noon and had an appointment within the hour.

Upon getting to the office she was seen right away. We didn't even sit down in the waiting room.

Our time with you was precise and to the point, as to her diagnoses and treatment. Her prescription was even called in right then.

It is comforting to know, after joining my family in The Institute for Medical Wellness that it is certainly living up to the high standards that it has committed to.

When my last doctor retired, I walked into Dr. Horvitz’s office looking for help. I was not only seen immediately but the doctor spent over 30 minutes with me on this first, walk-in visit, asking about my history before making any decisions about my treatment. I have been a patient with other doctors for years and they have never spent that much time learning about me, before caring for me.

Dr. Horvitz did not just prescribe pills for my lower back pain. He taught me how to stretch to stop the pain and the pain was gone in two days! He believes in using the least amount of drugs to heal. This is how all doctors should treat their patients.

I recommend Dr. Horvitz’s Wellness plan to everyone. It is a cost effective way to receive quality medical treatment and advice without insurance companies dictating your treatment. This is an especially a great plan for retired military who want a local doctor while still having Tri-care for more catastrophic issues. I have a local HMO but will not leave Dr. Horvitz knowing he has my best health at heart.

It was a pleasant surprise when I first saw your new plans & Mission Statement.

It has always been the way I believe medicine should be practiced.

I was raised in a family that only used Osteopathic physicians because of this very philosophy.

It was even more encouraging to see that you had the courage of your convictions to actually take the risk of implementing your beliefs.

I have always felt that it was the Family Doc who should manage your health care needs; hopefully in wellness, but also in minor & serious illness.

It is he (or she) that best knows you. The older I get, the more I see how true this is for myself and numerous friends.

I also know that you enjoy cooking tasty, quick, easy to prepare and healthy snacks and meals.

May I suggest that you include some of these in the already interesting e-mails we get from your Wellness Institute.
